Alicia Kearns , a member of the Conservative Party of Great Britain and the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the British Parliament, will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina this week, where she will meet and talk with high-ranking officials of our homeland.
In a conversation with BH UK Network staff, she asked about the book she plans to take to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Alicia has agreed with the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle , to have a commemorative book displayed in the British Parliament to be signed by its members on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the beginning of the siege of Sarajevo.
The book ” A Balkan Journey ” provides a penetrating insight into the human stories behind one of the most influential periods of modern European history. Author Chris Leslie takes us on a photographic journey through the cities of post-conflict former Yugoslavia in this extensive and previously unseen 24-year archive from the region.
Alicia Kearns MP thanked for the book, which does an excellent job of highlighting the unique character of the Balkans and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Alicia Kearns LetterI will read it and study the photographs before I travel to Bosnia with other MPs on June 8. Since I set up the All Party Parliamentary Group for Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have been able to focus parliamentary attention on your nation. This visit will demonstrate this newfound UK commitment.
“Thank you for all your support and for all the incredible work you do for the Bosnian community across the UK. Your organisation is a great inspiration to me,” Ms Kearns wrote.

Alicia recently gave full support to the activities of BH UK Network and gladly accepted the offer to be our patron.
