Bosnians and Herzegovinians in Manchester have decided to celebrate the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina again this year. This year’s event marking the birthday of Bosnia and Herzegovina began with a mention of the importance of this Day in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Teacher Belma managed to present the most important events in Bosnia and Herzegovina, not only in the pre-war and war periods, but also the current situation. Everyone was reminded that the adopted Resolution of ZAVNOBiH expressed the determination of the people of BiH to have their country as a twinned community in which full equality of all peoples would be ensured, as well as the equality of the Republic of BiH within the Yugoslav federation, with historical borders that dated back to the time of medieval Bosnia.

After the presentation, those present had the opportunity to listen to a short video by Josip Pejaković, and teacher Belma translated the speech into English. You could really see both joy and tears on the faces of those present. Everyone listened attentively, and those present had the opportunity to ask many questions and show interest in our country. 79730039 10160292607599619 4647402944986087424 O 300x139

Teacher Rasema Bakkali also addressed the attendees, who thanked everyone for coming together with the children with warm words of welcome in Bosnian, English and Arabic. Then they continued their prepared program, and the song “Hajmo Bosno Hajmo Herzegovina” was indispensable.

The guests were treated to a variety of food, from delicious Bosnian pies, sarma and cakes, but also specialties such as Libyan couscous, Pakistani rice, Syrian cakes and many other delicacies.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who spared their precious time to come and mark this important date for Bosnians and Herzegovinians, and thank you to everyone who contributed by bringing food and cakes and helped organize and prepare this unusual event,” said Dr. Belma Muhamedagić.
